Rockstar Games has told VG247 that the two episodes of DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, wont be going to the Playstation 3 and are still Xbox 360 exclusives.

It comes as an SCEE community moderator, who was at GamesCom this week, reported last night that The Lost and Damned was playable on the showfloor for the PS3 in Cologne.

A Rockstar rep told us: “The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony are both exclusive to Xbox 360.”

So there you have it, PS3 kiddies. No GTA IV DLC for you.

I’m sure PS3 owners won’t lose any sleep over this, though I’m always interested in hearing some more fanboy banter.

Well either SCEE’s community manager is flat out lying, or Rockstar are contractually obliged to maintain the pretence for a period which has yet to expire.

I wonder if anyone else can corroborate that it was playable on the show floor.

I have grand GT4 6 months and only played it once.
It just isn’t my type of game.
My little one loves it though.
I know I shouldn’t let her but if I didn’t let her she would play it any way.

It seems to never end though so I imagine you would be sick of it by the time you completed the game.
I mean she has played it for months and is still only at about 60%.

Good christ man…the game is utterly horrible in places. Even I thought that it might have pushed things a bit too far.

My son’s itching to play it. I won’t let him, though.

Ahhhm, *IF* it was playable on the showfloor for the PS3, then why the hell wouldn’t more people have come forward about seeing it or posted about it on the intrawebz?

If MS had some kind of timing window, Rockstar would NEVER show it publicly until the agreement safely expired… I call BULLSHIT on this one.

I know but she at least is playing it where I can see her.
Look what are they going to hear that they wont pick up on the street or at school.

Her last game was the bully game.
I remember one Saturday she spent a straight 12 hours on it. no messing.
In saying that she may not touch the 360 for weeks on end so I mean what harm.

This is in no way a reaction to this news, but I found GTAIV to be absolutely terrible in every aspect that involved movement.

I loved the new weapon store, the taxi system was amazing, and the characters/story, phenomenal. However, I gave it 2 weeks and the driving ruined everything. Heaven forbid I got over 2 stars while driving, I was caught every time.

I wouldn’t be apposed to playing either if it comes to the PS3, but please tell me: Did they at least tweak the driving?

You sure you didn’t have the motion control switched on for driving Barret? That can funk things up quite a bit. Driving took me a while to get used to as well, big change from previous versions. But after awhile i got the hang of it and was driving like Rick frickin’ Mears.

Hmm… so I’m reading now from people that were there that GTAIV was on the PS3 with NB playable, but only the 360 was playable with either of the episodes.

What, so it was vanilla GTA4 on the PS3s there, and this tit presumed the episodes were there too because they were on 360s? O_o

Seems curious that they’d show vanilla GTA4 at all, though. It’s not exactly a new game.

I don’t think I did, Doc, but I let a friend borrow the PS3, so I can’t really check now.
The problem wasn’t really moving in the wrong direction or slightly altered courses. The entire street felt like a ice-skating rink. I was told the cooler cars handle a bit better, and they did, but they were so few and far between that when I did get one, it completely threw me off. And the bikes, my favorite vehicle in the GTAs, killed me a little inside.
I just think maybe they went a little too realistic from what I was expecting, physics-wise at least.

Sorry but I just have to say it: not letting your kids play gta? That’s just cruel and unnecessary… Why would you do such a thing, why? There’s no excuse… :p

What do you mean there’s no excuse? They’re murder simulators. :D

How will the kid learn murder any other way?

Why wont you think of the children, Gek? :(

I guess this argument has been done to death already, but just maybe if I’d had GTA when I was a kid I would have gotten into less trouble on the actual streets…

Not that I ever got into that much trouble, too busy playing Alex Kidd… :p

Then again maybe I would have taken it as inspiration for all kinds of mischief, I don’t know…

    You know what, nevermind… :)

I wouldn’t call GTA a ‘murder simulator’ though… I don’t even think this kind of game exists… When I hear those words it makes me think of something like Sexy Beach 3, only with more blood and killing, and probably less bikinis… Someone should make one of those, actually…

You want blood, killing, and bikinis try Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad on 360, its a game every farther should play with their children.
