Entire Damnation team laid off

damnation

Blue Omega programmer Geoff Rowland has confirmed on his Twitter account that the Damnation team is no more.

“The entire Blue Omega team was laid off today (well, starting Friday),” he said.

Shacknews has dug up some legal docs surrounding Damnation’s development, none of it pretty.

There’s plenty there to pick over, should you be the vulture type.

Damnation was piss awful though, why Codemasters ever green lit it for release is beyond me. It would have been generous to call it a beta version the sheer number of bugs which shipped with the game.

I’m not in the least bit surprised by the troubled development cycle behind the game… I’d be more fearful if that was what Blue Omega called a job well done!

Best of luck to the team at least, hope you all find new and better jobs soon enough.

Blimey, from the sound of those documents it’s quite surprising that the game made it out at all!

OMG this game is HORRIBLE…it is now obvious..they knew they were going down the toilet and just shipped the game as is, I was hoping for patches, to bring the game up to a playable level and not make me want to throw my controller into the TV, but sigh that will never happen now…Time to sacrifice it to Gamestop for another game..
