Kojima not directing Metal Gear Solid Rising

Why do i sense Rising is all a Konami milking call and had nothing to do with Kojima?

I suspect it was a Konami management thing, to make a multiplatform MGS title

Kenichiro Imaizumi who is directing the game has worked as a design and story director on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He’s an exceptional game designer. He’s Konami’s Rod Ferguson.

I’d encourage anyone to check out a staff-credits for any of the previous Metal Gear Solid games, the number of roles that Kojima is credited for is truly staggering. I see a lot of names like “Miyamoto” get some billing like “Director” or somesuch on game credits but, to me, that doesn’t suggest a going-in-getting-your-hands-dirty involvement of development. Kojima is all over that shit – assuming MGS staff credits are to be believed.

To be honest, I don’t care. It’s Metal Gear Solid and so it will be awesome. Aesthetically, the more Yoji Shinkawa has to do with it the better.
