Killzone 2 surpasses 1 million units sold worldwide

Sony’s confirmed that Killzone 2 has surpassed 1 million copies sold worldwide, reports GameDaily.
Using the Guerrilla Games shooter as an example of an “only on PlayStation experience,” the firm said the title will “continue to drive incentive for hardware sales throughout the year.”
Just last week, the game was reportedly the only title in PS3 history to reach the 500,000 mark the fastest.
Quick jump in numbers there.

wow, the fact that you made a joke about the dev time for killzone 3 makes me think that first line is not really sarcasm.

No.. it was.. i was just kidding, but come one. it did take a while to get KZ-2 out..
Killzone 2 was one of the best games I played in a long time and i dont even like FPSs.
edit : I feel that the ‘edit’ button is to fix a mistake or a type-o, not to add a response to a response… but ill do it this once just to make you happy.

Wouldn’t be the first time supposed pre-order numbers have not been backed up by actual sales.

Jeez, makes me wonder on how much truth is in the fact 1 Million Sold if they said 1 Million Pre-orders in the Europe. Did that mean that a lot of people in Europe backed out on their order? OR Someone was padding the numbers.
Either way, I’m very happy that Killzone 2 is doing well. Great work by a great dev team. I looked forward towards their additions and other games.

I know many people who preorder things and fall through on the preorder, it’s entirely possible that there WERE that many preorders.

Eh!?
If it’s sold 620k in the US and 1m worldwide, then the European sales must have been abysmal.
Abysmal compared to what most people were expecting, that is… What happened to all those pre-orders???
Fastest to 500k in the US, but still doesn’t seem to have reached 500k in Europe though. Well, that’s another failed attempt to kill Halo…

Hey, G1GA, seeing as you know everything about Sony, the industry, sales, financial trends and all that jazz – whatever happened to that guranteed PS3 price cut you were talking about?
Remember how you were just “about to buy a PS3″ (just like you were before Killzone 2 came out) but assured us you wouldn’t because a price cut was coming in two weeks?
Yeah, that was about 3 weeks ago.
What’s up with that?

“the game was reportedly the only title in PS3 history to reach the 500,000 mark the fastest.”
Wrong, the fastest FIRST PARTY title.

Oh, that’s so cute, Mike. I love it when you do your innocent internet shrug. It’s totally convincing, by the way.
Totally.

Yeeeees.
When you make up some fiction as fact that then later proves to be fiction just pretend it never happened and beat your chest a bit.
That’ll just allow you to keep posting more fiction as fact and nobody can ever question your ‘facts’.
It can’t fail!

Yeah G1GA, you’re right, you ask someone a simple question and get met with derisory sarcasm. Terrible really.

Oh Mike, stop trying to play the internet victim card. Your incendiary posting history isn’t exactly a credit to you.
This is a fucking pantomime and you two are like the ugly sisters!
Now, show a proper sense of humour and post “Ooooooooooh no it isn’t!” instead of doing that unconvincing nobility schtick.
