FIFA 09 is UK Christmas number one

fifa09a4.jpg

Chart-Track’s confirmed that FIFA 09 has pipped World at War to the post to take the UK number one slot. Activision will be well pissed off.

The bookies won’t, however. The only way to win’s to keep it in your pocket, don’t you know.

Last week’s charts here. Data for the week ending December 20.

  1. FIFA 09 (EA)
  2. Call of Duty: World at War (Activision Blizzard)
  3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
  4. Need For Speed Undercover (EA)
  5. Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training (Nintendo)
  6. Wii Play (Nintendo)
  7. Quantum of Solace (Activision Blizzard)
  8. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Nintendo)
  9. Tomb Raider Underworld (Eidos)
  10. Wii Fit (Nintendo)

YES!

Thank fuck!

A great and decent game beats a game which I think is absolutely shit.

I hope Acti is pissed, I really hope so, it’ll teach them not to give Treyarch the COD series.

Besides, FIFA deserved it regardless, it is a fantasic game.

Oooh a couple of strikes late in the game brings an unexpected end to the season, EA wins the match.

They’re probably over the moon etc.

Although i am a huge PES fan (yes i bought PES2009) i’m glad that FIFA is number one, and that PES is not even in the top ten. Over the last couple of years FIFA has really tried hard to reinvent itself and this year it definitely showed with the stunning way the game looks and plays. Although i am sticking with PES this year if Konami churn out another carbon copy of a game next year i’m pretty sure i’ll be trying my hand at FIFA in 2009.

I will never condone a football game being at number one. Not ever.

“I will never condone a football game being at number one. Not ever.”

Not even when it’s an extremely polished and refined game, that does a wonderful job of portraying the sport?

Ummm… okay then.

Christ, I don’t even *like* football, but I can still appreciate that the game deserves the spot.

Although I don’t much care for either game, I’m pleased to see EA get the win. Because it’ll piss Activision off. That’ll teach ‘em!
