Obama drops $44k on in-game election ads

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has spent $44,465.78 on in-game advertising in the run-up to the US election, Gamespot reports.

The campaign, which was widely reported as appearing in Burnout Paradise, started on October 6 and ends on November 3.

The ads span 18 games, apparently.

Details were released through the Obama campaign’s pre-election filing with the Federal Election Commission.

More through there.

He might as well be president, He seems to have more money than the government.

I knew about this already, as those ads have been popping up in Burnout Paradise.

And I’m with Yahtzee on the view that BP’s Universe seems to be almost entirely staffed with semi-sentient robotic automobiles which apparently brought about the downfall of man (hence the lack of pedestrians in the game).

And now we have Obama trying to advertise his position to said rabid, angry AI battle-cars, there’s a level of absurdity there that I appreciate.
