The story will make the difference if you hate MMOs, says Star Wars writer
Talking at a live press conference in California, Daniel Ericson, lead writer on the new MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic said that the story will make all the difference “if you hate MMOs”
“If you’re a BioWare fan, you’re going to get everything you ever imagine from an extension of KOTOR,” he said.
That’s just put this game pretty much right at the top of our most wanted list.

It’s far from being on my top wanted list.
Too many open questions.

Yeah right. “It’s a MMO but honest guv, if you play offline it’s JUST LIKE KOTOR 1! Honest!”

This is wonderful news and I speak I know for thousands of loyal and supportive fans of the SW universe to say that we are very grateful for this continuation of an amazing journey. Thanks so much to LucasArts and to Biowar to listening to the fans and the community and honoring our hopes to see the story of the Knights of the Old Republic continued and many questions addressed. This opening presentation is very hopeful and sincere. Much much appreciated.

Yell plant at me too, then. For I’ll happily believe that they can actually do this.
It’s amazing how it’s not been noted that pretty much every Bioware game ever (almost) has also had a near perfect online co-operative multiplayer element accompanying it. In fact, Neverwinter Nights lead to some of my most fondly remembered online gaming experiences, thanks to Neverwinter Connections.
I don’t find it that hard to believe that it would be so difficult for them to simply rearrange this a bit. In other words, the IRC-like hub of Neverwinter Nights becomes graphical cities in the game, and the modules simply become missions within the game. In other words, it could just as easily be the Bioware experience we remember, but simply on a much, much larger scale.
And if that’s true, then I have no problems with that whatsoever.

You’re not a plant, you’re just nuts.
