Rubenstein: No reported 2.40 problems after successful install

Replying to users on the US PS blog, SCEA’s Jeff Rubenstein has said that so far, all the complaints the firm has received regarding the now-pulled Firmware 2.40 update have been regarding installation.

“We’ve received no reports of hardware issues following a successful install,” he said.

Sony took the drastic step of removing 2.40 from its servers last night after an unhealthy number of complaints of “bricking” occurred throughout yesterday afternoon and evening.

Good thing I can’t download it until I’m back home in less then two weeks. By then they should have fixed everything.

He’s wrong. Doing a couple of trophy comparisons last night I kept getting the mysterious error (Error has occured: Code #FFFF)

I thought I was back at work on my PC for a moment or two!

Trophy comparisons? Wassat? I haven’t had time to really get down and dirty with 2.40 yet.

Microsoft are going to have a field day with this. :-D

How’s he received no complaints if he’s replying to them…

Trophy Comparisons - a bit like the gubbins you get on live where you compare someone’s game trophies…achievements…whatever, against games you own.

I did a quick comparison of Super Stardust HD for my account against a couple of others on my friends list, and the thing showed the lists of achievements and trophies, but also a rather nasty looking #FFFF error code.

Strange I still can’t update Super Stardust. Tried going into the game and using the store as well but it just sits there. Anyone else had problems? Probably just busy servers?

It’s been pulled. Doing a story now.

The servers were incredibly slow last night, Klanger. I mean four hours for a frickin’ update slow…
