Pachter: 360 outsold PS3 in the US last month

He’s obviously still smarting from his ‘PS3 wins again!’ guesstimate last month.

Wish I could get paid as much as he does for talking utter cock month in, month out.

Flipflop. He said in his last prediction that the PS3 was going to sell 500k in GTA month and the 360 would do 350k.

So much for the 350k 360s and 500k PS3s. Putting my money where my mouth is, these were my predictions for the month:

[WII] 604k
[NDS] 540k
[PS3] 344k
[360] 324k
[PSP] 232k
[PS2] 196k

That comes at the bottom of all the analyst notes, pretty much.

It does kind of say… “You’ve just wasted 5 minutes reading and contemplating all of the above because I’m just guessing. People tend to believe you more if you throw numbers at them.”

I’ll be very much surprised if the PS3 outdid the 360 in April. Or May.

I think it did… but I don’t think there’s a lot in it. Time will tell how much the £25 difference between a 360 and PS3 makes in the US when dealing with GTA IV.

Are the GTA stats actually included in April’s data, or did it come out after the cut-off date?

There’s about a week of GTA to be included.

Hmm, looks like he pulled a flip flop again. Whoa, what happened to his 500k PS3 prediction early on? The margin is much closer as well. Anyhow this seems eerily similar to last month. Where he called it for the PS3 which turned out to be the incorrect, but decided he wanted to change his prediction mid-week hehe. I’m not sure what is going on with his predictions lately because they really are all over the place. CYA maybe the game of the day especially with his PS3 predictions since launch. I think even he is started to doubt it as well, which is saying a lot.

Indeed. Sadly the probable truth is that Sony would be treating us much, much more kindly if we (Europe as a whole, that is) were all buying Xbox 360s instead of PS3s.
