Pachter: Wii Fit can sell up to 4 million this year in US
Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter reckons Wii Fit could sell up to 4 million units in America this year alone if Nintendo treats it properly.
“Wii Fit will sell 3 million to 4 million in the US if they market aggressively,” he told the New York Post.
Pachter also reckoned that Nintendo of America may spend up to $40 million marketing Wii Fit, eclipsing ad campaigns for other big hitters like Halo 3, with it’s $10 million launch budget.
Wii Fit launches on May 19 in America and April 25 in Europe.

I’m not sure I want to spend £70 on it. I do want one, though.

I’m not sure they have the production capacity to sell 4 million in the US. At the current rate there will be 2 million more copies sold in Japan and then we have Europe to factor in.
With early Japanese sales figures suggesting production at 150 000 units/week that gives us 5,7million to be produced for the rest of the year.
They have been stashing units for the EU/US release though and the could ramp up production to meet demand.
Yeah right…

I’m depressed by my podgy frame as it is, I don’t need some cute Mii telling me I’m a fat cunt.
I can just stare blank-eyed into the TV screen and weep at my tubby reflection for that.

The Wii balance board! Destined to replace the Alphacom 32 printer and the “unlabelled plug-in box for an unspecified 8-bit computer” as the “what the hell was that ever used for?” item of choice at the car boot sales of the future!

One advantage the Steel Battalion controller has is that it sure looks the part.
