UMD "alive and well," says Sony
Sony has claimed PSP's UMD format is "alive and well," speaking at GDC last week.
The firm dropped the quote during a session designed to inform independent devs about general PlayStation platform opportunities, according to IGN.
Sony also provided latest life-to-date sales for PSP, saying North American sales have reached 17 million total units since the console first released in 2005.
Worldwide sales have now topped 60 million total units.
PSP go launched late last year, the first iteration of the handheld to release with no UMD slot.
