SOCOM 4 beta and Bomb Squad Mode detailed
Sony has detailed the Bomb Squad mode for SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, one of the four competitive modes in the game.
Known as SOCOM: Special Forces over in Europe, in Bomb Squad, insurgents have placed bombs all around the map and the Spec Ops team must defuse all the devices before time runs out.
The mode features the playable Bomb Technician character, which will be the one running around defusing said explosives while the rest of the team cover him. The character is not without firearms though, as he totes an automatic shotgun and a mobile grenade launcher.
Folks will be able to try out Bomb Squad mode as well as three others - Suppression, Last Defense, and Uplink - in the upcoming beta which will be playable on the Port Authority and Assault & Battery maps in Standard or Classic. You can use the both the Move controller or the Dualshock and if you have a 3D TV, you're in luck there as well.
The beta starts in North America March 22 and Europe on March 23 for PlayStation Plus members. Those who received a beta code with their purchase of Killzone 3 gain access to the beta on March 29.
It will be made available to everyone else starting April 5 in North America and April 6 in Europe.
