Persona 4 Arena EU publisher aiming for minimal launch delay

European publisher Zen United intends to get Persona 4 Arena into local hands as soon as possible.

"It’s always our intention to keep the delay between US/JP and EU to a minimum and we appreciate people’s patience," a representative told Siliconera.

"We don’t have an official release date to confirm at this time, but we hope to be able to do so soon."

The release delay is a more pressing issue than usual because even the PlayStation 3 version of Persona 4 Arena is region-locked, a very unusual move from Atlus which makes importing impractical.

The American arm of the publisher has explained the move as a business decision based on the added cost of a near simultaneous Japanese and western launch with added features, and reiterated that multiplayer is global.

Persona 4 Arena is a fighting spin-off to the popular RPG and is due on both HD consoles in Japan on July 26 and the US on August 7.
