Pachter: Console price cuts this year, growth to slow after 2008

Speaking at the Electronic Gaming Summit in the US yesterday, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter predicted that both Xbox 360 and PS3 will come down in price this Christmas to the tune of $50 a piece.

This Kotaku report also states that Pachter expects the industry to see between 19-20 percent growth in the US and European markets this year.

Pachter said that unless a new console is introduced in 2011, the industry will "flatline", with growth slowing up to that point.
