Fallout 76: How to Open the Gauley Mine Key Code Lock

There's a secured supply cage in Gauley Mine, protected by a locked door. Here's how to find the code and open it.

Fallout 76's Gauley Mine is a twisted dungeon filled with the Scorched, which you can explore as part of your own adventure or when prompted to save Sol and Polly as part of the Wastelanders update. Halfway down is a big supply cage, which requires a code to open. Here's how to find the code and open the supply cage.

How to Open the Gauley Mine Key Code Lock in Fallout 76

Opening the Supply Cage in Gauley Mine requires a six-digit code to be punched into a keypad next to the door, but the code isn't immediately obvious. There's a note on the left when first entering the mine that mentions the code itself is pinned to a bulletin board, but there's no indication of where the board is within the mine itself. Fortunately, it's not too hard to find.

The code is on the opposite wall to the supply cage, pinned to the board. | Joel Franey/USgamer, Bethesda Game Studios/Bethesda Softworks

Key Code to Unlock Gauley Mine Supply Cage

The code is not random and as far as we know should always be the following:

  • 071 990

If you do want to find the code, stand facing the supply cage door and turn around 180 degrees so that you're facing the opposite direction. Ahead of you, beneath the staircase, is a small light on the opposite wall. The board is beneath that, with a small white page that shows only the code number. Punch that in to open the supply cage.

What is Inside the Gauley Mine Supply Cage?

The Supply Cage holds various crafting junk items, as well as a raider chest piece and some explosives. There's also been a new ID Card-locked door put in as part of the new Wastelanders update, and while it's currently inaccessible, you'll be able to open it later on as part of the main quest relating to the Wayward Bar. Don't worry, we won't spoil what's behind it.
