Here’s over 15 minutes of Halo Reach gameplay on PC at 4K 60fps

If you weren’t lucky enough to be invited to the very limited group of players currently testing Halo Reach on PC, you may find some solace in seeing the game running on PC.

Of course, some have already taken the extreme measure of leaking the test build so those without access can play it for themselves, but that’s a bit too far for most.

A more sensible way to cope would be to watch the game actually being played with a mouse and keyboard and admire how far we’ve come. The official Halo channel has thankfully done just that, showing the game running at 4K 60fps.

The video is a bit over 17 minutes-long, and features the game’s first mission. Although it does look great, something is definitely up with sound mixing. Sound effects for the DMR and grenade launcher are almost inaudible. Even in relatively quiet moments, there’s this weird white noise in the channel smothering everything else.

This is a work-in-progress build, after all, so this may well be a bug, but it’s a bit strange no one caught it when capturing footage. It’s also possible this is simply a capture issue, not a problem with the game itself.

Still, if you can set that aside, the rest of the demo is enjoyable.
