Guitar Hero Live update adds 1vs1 Rival Challenges mode

FreeStyle Games has updated Guitar Hero Live TV with a new head-to-head competition mode.

Called Rival Challenges, the feature included in the GHTV channels will match up similarly skilled players so they can go mano a mano in an all out shred fest.

To unlock Rival Challenges, players will need to be at least level 10. This way, they will have acquired many of the Guitar Upgrades and accumulated some Hero Powers which will be needed in order to best their opponent.

Players will also be able to show off the personalization items they've earned, and each person's playercard and note highway will be shown on screen.

Rival Challenges will occur twice in every half-hour show and the song choices will be picked by the game, so players won't know what's coming ahead of time.

The winner of each battle will award an extra +100 Status XP.

Additionally, the team has also added the ability to mark a song as a “favorite” which is handy as it will allow players to revisit previously played songs.

An finally, players how have depleted their song play tokens will pleased to know they will receive a daily reward of three plays which will allow them to choose whichever tracks they want on-demand.
