Yet another highly-placed staffer has left Epic Games.

GamesIndustry reports global marketing lead Kendall Boyd has left Epic.

He’s just the latest in a string if high-profile departures from the Unreal Engine developer. Gears of war creator Cliff Bleszinski and producer Rod Fergusson are both currently at a loose end now that the latter has finished his stint at Irrational Games, and president Mike Capps has retired.

Over the course of his career, Boyd has been on board more than 35 games, and held positions at THQ and EA Sports before joining Epic in 2010. The marketer has a new job lined up at Microsoft, as director of Halo global marketing; you can hardly blame him for jumping ship to one of the biggest franchises in gaming, really. The split seems to have been totally amicable, with Epic and Microsoft confirming the news.

Epic is currently working on Fortnite, and it’s not inconceivable that it may have a new Gears of War in the works for the next Xbox console, which will be revealed on May 21.
