Rumour – Castlevania: Mirror of Fate due for E3 reveal

By Brenna Hillier, Tuesday, 22 May 2012 01:12 GMT

The Internet will not rest until it’s outed every E3 2012 surprise, starting with a new 2D Castlevania title for 3DS.

Although the report has since been withdrawn at Konami’s request, Dutch site N1ntendo reported earlier today that a new Castlevania game for 3DS will be shown at E3.

The original report had the title as Mirror of Faith, but subsequent investigation turned up a new Konami domain registration for Mirror of Fate, suggesting an error.

The 2D title is apparently in development at Spanish studio MercurySteam, which also produced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.

Rumour suggests the title may be a spin-off or tie-in for an expected sequel to Lords of Shadow.
