Journey devs launch new studio, remake IGF finalist

Two members of the team behind fl0w, Flower and Journey have teamed up to launch a new developer.

Gamasutra reports the new start up is called The Wilderness, and is based in Los Angeles. Its first project will be a full commercial release of Way, a co-operative puzzle platformer which was nominated for the Student Showcase and Nuovo award at this year's Independent Games Festival.

The fledgling indie team only has three members so far but even so has some hefty experience under its collective belt. Way designer Chris Bell worked as a producer and designer at thatgamecompany during the development of Journey.

Colleague John Nesky also worked on Journey as a "feel engineer", and the pair are joined by Way programmer Walt Destler, formerly of Schell Games and Walt Disney Imagineering.

A free build of Way is available now for PC and Mac.
