Kojima: Any potential Snatcher game would need to sell at least 200k in Japan

Hideo Kojima has said that any potential game based on Snatcher would at least need to have the potential to sell 200,000 units in Japan.

He tweeted that if it had to make an open-world version, similar to LA Noire, it would need to sell at least half a million.

The chatter of a new game follows the beginning of a new radio play based on the Snatcher universe, helmed by Suda 51 and Akira Yamaoka. The first few episodes brought in listening figures of 450,000 listeners.

"Even though the radio broadcast is free, if we converted it to a game, could it sell 200,000 or so domestically?," he said.

For now, don't hold bets on Kojima himself doing a Snatcher game anytime soon.

Thanks, Andriasang.
