Project Spark is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but specifically, a member of developer Team Dakota has stressed that you won’t need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play the Xbox One build.

Team Dakota live streamed a gameplay session for Project Spark yesterday, and its now available to watch on YouTube. In it the team shows off some of the castle interiors, Kinect performance capture on the Xbox One, in-game camera controls, and other nuggets. Check it out below. Microsoft has opened beta sign-ups for Project Spark, a PC, Windows 8 tablet, Xbox 360 and Xbox One title with cross-play. Despite a video demonstration during Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference, we still don’t know a hell of a lot about it, except that it has you navigating an open world and building your own games before sharing them and remixing those of other players. Why not just throw your name in the hat and find out?

Microsoft announced Project Spark today at its E3 conference. It’s a game about making your own game which you can share with other gamers. You can build your own world, obstacles and enemies. Other players can even re-mix your game and build on an idea. The open-world digital game will allow you to play across Xbox One, Windows 8 and Xbox 360. Screenshots are below.
