Spotify has told IncGamers that there is “no truth” in bringing the music service to consoles.

It comes as a report this morning claimed that it would be coming to PS3, 360 and Wii soon, but the company seems to have killed it off for now anyways.

“We’ve always said that we want to be on as many devices as possible so that we can bring music to wherever our users are, but there’s no truth to these ‘anonymous’ rumours about Spotify coming to game consoles any time soon,” said a rep for Spotify.

Chalk up as a rumour for now.

Baxy-Z are reporting that music service Spotify could be seeing a release for the consoles.

An “insider” told the site that it is working on bringing the service to “next-gen consoles”, which obviously means PS3, 360 and Wii.

“We’ve been working on it for some time now and we can’t wait to reveal it to you guys!,” said the insider.

Again, take with a pinch of salt.
