More than half of Conan servers merged to oblivion

ageofconan8.jpg

The future isn’t looking so great for Conan and company. According to developer Funcom, Age of Conan players can expect to meet a few fresh faces this week, when their MMO of choice sees its server count slashed from 49 to a paltry 18.

Since servers are region based, the number of servers available after the rash of mergers will vary from territory to territory. For instance, North America and the Oceanic regions, which could once boast dominion over 24 barbarian reservations, will soon duct tape their way down to six total servers.

Europe, meanwhile, scuttles out of the mad scientist’s lab with 12 of its original 25 servers due to the need for multiple server types that cater to multiple languages.

After November’s lay-off Olympics, we can’t help but wonder if the Age of Conan is drawing to a close. Can someone who still plays the game give us a prognosis?

LittleBigPlanet patched to 1.03 to lighten server load

littlebigplanet25.jpg

According to this Eurogamer piece, a 1.03 patch has been issued for LittleBigPlanet, the main point of which is to lighten server load.

The game’s servers are still down, pulled on Tuesday thanks to unspecified “glitches”.

Sony issued a new statement on the matter this morning:

“We are aware that the online environment of LittleBigPlanet is having server performance issues, and we are investigating the cause. We’ll have an update to the online gameplay as soon as we possibly can.”

The game launches in the UK on November 5.

Thanks, Psychotext.

LBP servers back “very shortly” (update)

littlebigplanet54.jpg

Update: More here. There’s been another patch. The servers are still down.

The comedy will never end. According to this post on the US PS Boards, LittleBigPlanet’s downed servers will be back as soon as humanly possibly. That isn’t “now,” unfortunately.

The LittleBigPlanet servers have been experiencing significant problems throughout the past 24 hours affecting the online game experience. We are working round the clock on the solution to the current issues and we expect the service to improve very shortly.

Offline Play and Create will still function properly during any disruption.

Please accept our apologies for any frustration this may cause for the time being.

Saying nothing. More soon, hopefully.
