RedLynx has promised it’ll announce a release date for Trials Evolution “in the near future.” The sequel was promised for a 2011 release on Xbox Live Arcade initially, but never appeared. Now the Finnish studio’s come out to quell any fears over its release. “We have been very busy with the game, but 2012 is the year. We can’t say when yet, but we are super busy, so that’s a clue,” the company said on Facebook. “We hope to have a big announcement with a more solid release date within the the near future.”
Evolution will be published by Microsoft Studios despite RedLynx being bought by Ubisoft last year.

“Having had good success in some of the industry’s growth areas, and being able to prove that we can keep on developing great games, it is natural that different publishers have been interested in working with us. But there is no need to think about that anymore. We are really excited to be part of Ubisoft, and now more than ever we are fully focused on the most important thing: developing great games.” – RedLynx’s co-founder Antti Ilvessuo, speaking to Edge, about interest elsewhere for the studio. It was announced earlier this week Ubisoft had bought the Finland-based Trials developer.

RedLynx has told CVG that it’s proud of Trials HD, its Xbox Live Arcade game, for bringing in 300,000 sales.
“We’re a smaller, 25-person multiplatform studio, and for us this is an excellent example of how digital download space opens up significant opportunities that might not otherwise be available for creative and talented smaller teams,” said studio CEO Tero Virtala.
Even so, the firm is mum on what else is next from the team.
“First things first. We are still very strongly working on DLC for Trials HD,” said Virtala. “It’s gonna be a great package. No exact date yet set, will keep you updated! We’ll first make sure it’s gonna be a really good pack.”

Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx, sat down with GOONLINE and had a chat about all things Trials HD, and through the course of the conversation, Virtala happened to provide his thoughts on Natal and the montion controller from Sony.
“The motion controls definitely expand the possibilities for whole new game experiences. New type of games, interactive experiences, new type of audiences,” he said. “There are number of interesting developments that we all have seen in the press. If we would have to hand-pick one of the most interesting ones, we would most likely choose Project Natal.
“Motion controlling without the controller – with full body and movement mapping – it could be a leap to the next dimension, not just one more development step among motion controllers.
“In any case, our focus has always been multiplatform, and we’ve been many times working with new devices and platforms, so these new motion controllers definitely are of high interest.”
As far as bringing Trials HD to PSN, Virtala said it was too early to say as the firm is concentrating on DLC for the Xbox Live version at the moment.

Redlynx has released three new gameplay videos for Trials HD.
Game has over 50 tracks in two game modes: Race and Skill. Race emphasizes balance, skill and control as players take-on indoor obstacle tracks with minimum faults, as fast as possible.Skill-mode contains extreme stunt tracks, and explosions, crashes, and injuries cannot be avoided.
The physics-based motorcycle racer is expected to land on Xbox Live on August 12 and will include a level-editor allowing you to create your own tracks and share your work with pals.
