SSX Online Pass not required for multiplayer
EA Sports has taken an unusual stance with its Online Pass for SSX, letting you participate in multiplayer events – but not receive rewards for doing so.

Reckoning contains online pass locking House of Valor questline
Despite being a single-player game, EA has tossed an online pass code into the packaging of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. According to the insert included with review copies of the game, players are locked out of seven faction quests in the RPG called the “House of Valor” until they enter the code included with the title. While it hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, if Reckoning follows similar releases from EA, the quests will be available for purchase to those who buy the game used sometime after its released next month. Twisted Metal goes gold, may include online pass
It looks as though Twisted Metal may include an online pass when released next month after all, according to a report on The Gamers Hub (via Joystiq). When the site asked the game’s QA lead Justin Trease during a hands-on demo at CES if the game would include an online pass of some sort, he replied “yes,” without providing details. However, if it includes one, it will likely be similar to other online passes, meaning you will have to buy the game new in order to get a code to play online. Eat Sleep Play’s David Jaffe said in December he would “prefer” the game not to include an online pass, but said ultimately, it wasn’t his “call” but Sony’s.
Twisted Metal has officially gone gold, and will be released February 14 in the US and February 17 in the UK.

Expired Online Pass codes found in new copies of EA games
A NeoGAF user has discovered that the EA Online Pass voucher in his brand new copy of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit has expired, thus locking him out of the game’s multiplayer modes.
