A demo for ShootMania: Storm Elite is now available, featuring a full mode from the retail product. It can be downloaded through ManiaPlanet, shootmania.com or Steam – where it is also 50% off. The demo also offers a taste of 3v3 action, matchmaking, dedicated rankings and progression levels. Plus, if you play the demo between now and October 31, you could win a PlayStation 4 or the game. TrackMania 2: Valley will launch July 4, developer Nadeo has confirmed. The follow-up to TrackMania 2: Canyon will deliver a 65-track campaign as well as many new blocks for track-makers to use.

ShootMania Storm launches today, and the trailer for it is below. The first-person action, online multiplayer shooter can be yours for $19.99 through Steam, or through the game’s website. The release follows an open beta where “hundreds of thousands of players from around the world competed for global domination on the game’s ladder ranking system.” In addition, testers created over 35,000 custom maps and modes using the editor tools.

Shootmania Storm publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that Nadeo’s creatively-charged shooter has slipped to an April release date. Ubisoft has also sent across two new screens to help ease our suffering, and has announced a new open beta phase for February.

Shootmania Storm, like all the Mania titles, is bang behind user generated content. The new beta map editor is detailed in the trailer through the break, and it’s really worth a look if you have even the slightest interest in shooter level design.

Shootmania Storm will have two free modes available at launch: Royal and Elite. Royal tasks players will gaining control over a map point in a free-for-all, and Elite will see two teams of players defending and attacking their opponent’s base. Ubisoft has released a trailer which shows the modes, and it’s posted below. The online FPS from Nadeo will allow players to create, edit and share maps when it releases exclusively on PC later this year.

Ubisoft has announced ShootMania Storm is now available for pre-order. Those who drop cash early on the title will be provided instant and permanent access to the beta and all its updates until the game releases in the fall. Ubisoft has announced its getting into the eSports genre with FPS ShootMania Storm, which was designed “specifically with eSports in mind.” The publisher brought six eSports champions and pro-gamers on to the E3 press conference stage to demonstrate one of the competitive shooter’s more unusual modes, which pit one-hit kill rail guns against two-hit kill rockets, with territory to be defended. The match was quick and brutal. No word on eSports partnerships yet. You can sign up for the beta through shootmania.com, and check out the debut trailer. The PC exclusive is expected to launch this year.

Ubisoft has let sleip a few scant details on ShootMania Storm, the second entry in Nadeo’s ManiaPlanet series after TrackMania. The online FPS will feature the ManiaPlanet label’s characteristic customisation options, allowing players to create, edit and share maps.
