“Who gives a shit” about target renders, says Motorstorm dev

motorstorm.jpg

In defence of using a target-rendered CGI movie to advertise Motorstorm way back, Evolution Studios’ Nigel Kershaw has responded by saying, “no-one gives a shit,” “this is how we make games.”

“You didn’t match your target render!” says Kershaw sarcastically as though some child were taunting the development team.

“Who gives a shit, ya know? That’s how we makes games, if you’ve got a problem with it, then tough!”

Seriously. We’re not lying. See for yourselves after the break.

Game’s listed a PSP version of MotorStorm. This means nothing, but would be cool, so we thought we’d post it. No date, detail, or much likelihood of it ever coming out.

Japan got one, it’s on the way to Europe, and now America is finally getting a PS3 budget range, if the image in this Kotaku piece is to be believed.

It’s supposedly a picture taken from a K-mart entertainment catalogue. The pic only shows Motorstorm, Warhawk and Resistance. No price or date.

Four new PS3 game and controller bundles announced for Europe

After getting our attention with the hotter than hot-cakes Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, Sony has gone into overdrive by lining up another four bundle packs exclusively for Europe.

The games on offer are Folklore, Motorstorm, Formula One CE or GT5: Prologue complete with sixaxis controller.

Just to point out, these bundles don’t include a PS3. They’re just the game and a controller. We’re saying nothing.

Thanks Game-class.

Motorstorm 2 goes from desert to “lush island”, has four-way split-screen

motorstorm2.jpg

The BBC’s Darren Waters, him what filmed the red ring of death on Microsoft’s stand at GDC, has been given a sneak peak at Motorstorm 2, which is apparently out at the end of this year.

“Motorstorm 2 is due out in time for Christmas,” it says here, “and moves the action away from the desert locale of the original. Gamers will be able to race around a lush island environment, full of interactive vegetation.

“The game will feature four-player split-screen action, righting one of the obvious failings of the first game.

“The title is some months away from completion but the game’s engine looked rock solid and the graphics were as impressive as one would expect from one of the best-looking racing franchises.”

Now. Should we buy a PS3 on the back of blind excitement? Or should we not?

Motorstorm to “dominate reaction racing”, says Evolution

motorstorm.jpg

British developer Evolution has major plans for its Motorstorm game, the company said today, and intends to lead the twitch-racing genre for many moons to come.

“We have the aim of turning our launch-window title into a sustained, massive brand,” said producer Jed Ashworth. “We plan to dominate reaction racing for a long time. We’d never aim any lower.”

The racer, which won plaudits as both a high quality title and one of the first on PS3, is now one of several projects at the studio, Ashworth confirmed.

“The picture some people have of us all working on [MotorStorm DLC] is somewhat off the mark,” he said. “We’re a multiple-project developer now.”
