Krome Studios to lay-off staff as part of restructuring process

Krome Studios has revealed that its to lay-off “an undisclosed number of employees” across three studios as part of a restructuring process.
“With declining game sales the industry is really feeling the effects of the struggling economy,” said Krome CEO Robert Walsh> “In spite of industry wide cutbacks and Krome’s need to reduce costs, we’ve worked really hard to minimize the impact on our staff.
“These cuts, while incredibly difficult as they affect the co-workers we consider friends, are necessary as we position Krome for the future. We’re also actively pursuing several business opportunities which, if secured, will enable Krome to reemploy some of the staff given notice.”
Tiles developed by the Australian studio include Viva Pinata: Party Animals, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning and Star Wars: The Clone Wars – Republic Heroes.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes

During the Star Wars panel at Comic-Con last night, it was announced that Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes would miss its September 15 release date and instead bit shelves on October 6.
Krome Studios is developing it, and it’s a third person action game based on the Cartoon Network animated series.
When released you will be able to purchase it for DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, and Xbox 360.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes debut trailer and loads of screens

LucasArts has released a trailer and bevy of screens for Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes.

It’s the same video Entertainment Weekly posted last Saturday, but now you can watch it here instead of clicking through.
Game’s out for DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 and Wii in September.

Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes officially announced

LucasArts and Krome Studios officially announced Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes this morning.
Based on the Cartoon Network series, players will fight for the Galactic Republic, pursue the bounty hunter Cad Bane and try and thwart the Skakoan villain, Kul Teska.
Players take on the role of a Jedi Knight or clone trooper through 30 missions created from shared assets from Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, and the storyline leads up to the second season.
A variety of vehicles are present in the game, along with weapons such as rocket launchers, thermal detonators and jet packs built specifically for run-and-gun gameplay.
The game supports two-player online and offline co-op play with drop-in and drop-out multiplayer on PS3 and Xbox 360.
The DS version includes an expanded storyline from season one, with touch-screen controls for movement, attacks, and puzzle solving.
It’s out in September.

Rumor: Clone Wars co-op game coming to PS3 and 360
Rumor has it that Krome Studios is working on a new Star Wars title for PS3 and Xbox 360 called The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes.
Said to be a third-person action title, the game features a co-op mode covering both Jedi and Clone missions.
Players will get to choose to between Anakin Skywalker or Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano in a Jedi mode, and bounty hunter Cad Bane in the Clone missions.
It is also rumored that the game will focus on melee combat, contains purchasable upgrades, and the ability to control rolling Droideka and other driods.
Destructoid has contacted LucasArts and Krome Studios for confirmation, and has yet to hear back.
