FFXIII-2 demo coming to PS3, 360 next week
Square Enix has confirmed it’s releasing the demo for Final Fantasy XIII-2 next week, January 10 in for Xbox 360 and US PS3 and January 11 for EU PS3 owners. The demo was outed earlier this morning on the recent episode of the PlayStation Blogcast. More details on what the demo’s content will be will arrive “soon”.

FFXIII-2 360 to get exclusive weapon DLC
Square’s announced details of a 360-exclusive weapon for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Known as the Azrael weapon, carried by Serah, it’ll up your chain bonus stat.
You can purchase it from January 10 for 80 MSP. There’s more on it on Andriasang.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 video and screens do monster mash
Square’s released a video showing the ability to capture monsters for use in future battles in FFXIII-2. This is the first time monsters have been available for use in this way in an FF title. Each monster has a specific role to play in combat, and there are over 150 to collect. And every one of the little guys can be developed and levelled, too.

FFXIII-2 cinematic shows epic Lightning-Caius fight in Valhalla
Square Enix has released a two-minute video of one of the Final Fantasy XIII-2 cinematics, showing an epic battle between Lightning and new baddie Caius, which takes place in Valhalla. As is the Square norm, it’s in flabgobinglytastic CG. Get watching below the break.
FFXIII-2′s out in Japan on December 15, with a US launch on January 31 and a European launch on February 3, for PS3 and 360.

Final Fantasy XIII-2′s story to be 30-40 hours
Final Fantasy XIII-2′s story will take around 30-40 hours to finish, the development team has told this week’s Famitsu (via Siliconera). After you complete the game, you’ll be able to reload your save to take you back to a point before the game’s final boss. If you have a save file for FFXIII, you’ll get a special wallpaper.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 releases in Japan on December 15, and in the west on the week of January 30 for PS3 and 360.

FFXIII-2 will get huge amount of DLC, says Kitase
Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase has said there’ll be a huge amount of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Speaking in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation, Kitase said those who’ll play the game can expect up to one or two updates per month, which will multiple items of content, from costumes to enemies and weapons. He wouldn’t say how much the DLC to be, but did say it would find a good balance between quality and price.

FFXIII-2 gets second 360-led TGS trailer
Square Enix has released the second TGS trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2, just as promised. The first video from last week was in Japanese, but was running from the PS3 version. This newer one has footage captured from the 360 version. To cover all bases, we’ve also included the PS3 trailer, which has now been released in English. FFXIII-2 DLC to include additional monsters, costumes, more
Final Fantasy XIII-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase has confirmed what to expect in terms of the RPG’s DLC plans, saying that while the content on the disc will suit players, the downloadable content will help extend the game. DLC, according to Kitase, will include additional costumes, weapons and monsters. He also confirmed that FFXIII-2 will have an amusement center, which will have a casino and chocobo races.

FFXIII-2 TGS trailer dropped by Square Enix
Square Enix has released the first of two promised trailers for Final Fantasy XIII-2 from Tokyo Game Show following the announcement this morning of formal dates for the RPG. The video shows some reappearing faces from FFXIII, as well as new character and time traveller Noel. Get the video below, via GameVideos.

Square Enix has confirmed tonight it’ll launch Final Fantasy XIII-2 in Japan on December 15, with dates also confirmed for the US and EU.

Final Fantasy XIII-3 domain registered by Square Enix
Square Enix has registered a domain called FinalFanasyXIII-3.com. As noted by Joystiq, Corporation Service Company was who signed the domain, but its done domain registrations before for the publisher. XIII-2 was first uncovered before its formal announcement via a domain registration back in January. You probably should’t read too much into this, though: it’s probably a bit of safekeeping from domain squatters by Square.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 gets new cinematic PAX trailer – watch
Square’s released a brand new trailer of Final Fantasy XIII-2 ahead of PAX attendees getting their hands on the game at the event this weekend in Seattle. There’s new cut-scenes not shown before, as well as footage of the Moogle in action for the first time, and a sighting of the dude that appeared in the first teaser trailer alongside Lightning in January.
