Mass Effect: Andromeda male and female protagonists are siblings

BioWare has revealed a couple of interesting details about the Ryders, Mass Effect: Andromeda's protagonists.

Although BioWare was at Sony's PlayStation Meeting yesterday to show off how good Mass Effect: Andromeda looks in 4K, the developer managed to slip in a couple of story/character details.

We already know that Ryder will be the name of the game's protagonist, and that we'll be able to choose between a male or female version. Speaking to PlayStation Access, creative director Mac Walters confirmed that both Ryders exist as brother and sister in the story.

Now, he didn't say whether we're actually going to run into the other during the game, only that they're "out there somewhere". Both choices are canon, obviously, as the studio previously indicated.

In the interview, which you can watch below, Walters also confirmed the identity of the dude in N7 armour we saw in the reveal trailer.

That person is actually their father, but the creative director didn't reveal much else about him.

Andromeda is due out in early 2017 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
