World of Tanks and Valkyria Chronicles are teaming up, because tanks

What do World of Tanks and Valkyria Chronicles have in common? This is not a trick question.

In today's edition of "things that made me pause my endless inbox scrolling", Wargaming and Sega have teamed up to cross promote World of Tanks: Blitz and Valkyria Chronicles.

The bombastic free-to-play strategy MMO and delicately cel-shaded turn-based SRPG have more in common than an emphasis on tactical gameplay; they're both super keen on tanks. Yep. That's the motivating factor here.

The two companies aren't really talking about how they're working together yet. "The exact details of our cooperation with Valkyria Chronicles will be revealed on stage at the Tokyo Game Show," Wargaming said.

In the meantime, enjoy the teaser above. The subtitles aren't hardcoded, so you'll need to turn them on in the YouTube player.

Valkyria Chronicles is one of those painfully under-appreciated franchises which Sega has recently given a bit of extra love. The original game released in 2008, and was ported to PC in 2011 ahead of a remastered release on PS4 in May this year.

The next Valkyria Chronicles game is Valkyria: Azure Revolution, coming to PS4 and Vita in Japan in January.
