Online Hacking returns with Watch Dogs 2 alongside new Bounty Hunter Mode

PvP is back in Watch Dogs 2 and it's bringing another mode along for the ride.

At gamescom 2016, Ubisoft announced the return of Online Hacking in the video above. The PvP mode tasks the player with completing a contract through an app on their phone or when using the profiler tech. Basically, the player is invading someone else's game and will appear as a random citizen so as not to raise suspicion.

The goal is then to hack into the victim and steal their data without harming the player, who will also be notified an enemy is attempting steal their information after the backdoor to the data has been installed. The player can use their own hacking tools to find the hacker and take them down.

New to Watch Dogs 2 is Bounty Hunter mode. If you cause too much havoc such as killing innocent civilians, a bounty will be placed on your head. This will allow three other players to seamless invade your game and hunt you down for the reward; however, you can turn the tables on them.

If you manage to track down the players who have accepted the contract, and take them out, you will earn a bigger reward than the one offered for your demise.

Online play with others isn't always dangerous. Players can team up in co-op and do all sorts of activities together, leisurely or otherwise as seen at the start of the video and in the screenshots above, which look vaguely familiar. Then again, everything tends to run together this time of year.

Watch Dogs 2 releases on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One November 15.
