Cryptark is the latest from Apotheon devs and it's coming to Steam Early Access, PS4

AlienTrap Games, developers of the excellent Apotheon, have announced its latest title: the sci-fi roguelike Cryptark will be heading to PlayStation 4.

The game is a high-speed roguelike shooter in which players take control of space mercenaries.

Players will nee to complete contracts by "boarding and disarming" remnants of an ancient alien sleets of ships. In order to get paid, objectives must be completed, and the money earned can be sued to upgrade weapons and gear.

As the game progresses, the player will eventually be able to gain access to the "flagship known as the Cryptark" where they will recover "mysterious alien technology."

Invasions and problems can be performed or solved using various strategy options. This allows the player to choose how to disarm security systems, turret controllers on the ships and protection shields. All of this needs to be accomplished before the Central Core can be reached, and destroyed in order to get paid.

With each victory comes a larger and more difficult ship with even bigger rewards.

Cryptark is scheduled to launch next year on PS4 and will be made available through Steam Early Access later this afternoon.

If you haven't played AlienTrap's Apotheon yet, I cannot recommend it enough. One suggestion though: use a controller if you play it on PC. I only say that because I was getting hand craps using the keyboard and mouse. If you aren't prone to such a malady you should be fine.
