Never type in a PlayStation Store code again

The PlayStation App has been updated with a small but very welcome new feature.

PS Store codes can now be redeemed directly through the PlayStation App.

Dualshockers reports today's update even allows you to take a photo of PS Store codes to redeem them. This makes the app even more convenient than the webstore in situations where it's difficult to copy and paste.

Here are the full (but very short) patch notes for version 2.55.8 on Android and 2.55.7 on iOS:

    Android
  • PS Store can now be opened within PlayStation App.
  • PlayStation Network Card numbers and promotion codes can now be entered within PlayStation®App.
  • Comments that you receive while broadcasting from your PS4 system can now be displayed on the second screen.
    iOS:
  • PlayStation Network Card numbers and promotion codes can now be entered within PlayStation App.
  • Comments that you receive while broadcasting from your PS4 system can now be displayed on the second screen.
