Eurogamer picked up on the news thanks to a number of vacancies advertised on the PlayStation jobs site.

Reaching out to Sony about North West Studio, Eurogamer were told that the studio is still in early days - as evident by the mass of job listings.

They were also told, by alternate sources, that the studio would be Manchester-based and would include staff laid-off from Evolution during the restructure.

Project Morpheus is rumoured to be releasing in Q1 of 2016, with more details expected at Sony's E3 press conference.
