If you are among the few who still play the original Borderlands on PlayStation 3, you'll be happy to know that you can once again play the game online.

Ever since the shuttering of GameSpy last year, a few games, including Borderlands on PS3, have become offline-only, because of their reliance on the GameSpy servers.

Today, Gearbox announced that it will be updating the PS3 version of Borderlands with a new matchmaking system for players in Europe and North America, with a Japanese patch coming soon.

The new update adds a few new features as well, such as an ability to sort the friends list through different filters, improvements to voice chat and a fix for the “And They’ll Tell Two Friends” Trophy.
