Super Smash Bros. 3DS glitch is banning online players for 136 years

Super Smash Bros. 3DS players have reported a glitch in the game causing an online battle ban for 136 years.

Damn. That's longer than the number of years Moses lived. Or something.

According to a thread on reddit, the glitch may be caused by a coding error which is distorting the ban timeline.

Players have noticed the ban being handed down when repeatedly targeting another player online during four-player For Fun matches, per Nintendo Life.

Until the glitch is fixed, the reddit thread suggests players either skip online play for the time being, or stick with 1v1 matches.

Nintendo put punishments in place for instances of rage quitting (the game knows if it was a connection drop) or unsportsmanlike behavior. In this particular instance, it's obviously an overzealous hiccup.

We'll keep you posted on the matter.
