Project Zero 5 for Wii U looks terrifying

Thursday, 17th July 2014 09:12 GMT By Matt Martin

Nintendo has released the first video for Project Zero 5 ahead of its September 27th release.

The Wii U exclusive, developed by Tecmo Koei, is so far only confirmed for release in Japan.

The chaps over at have also grabbed some high quality stills, a few of which are below.

Don’t you dare release it Japan only like you did with Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.

    Yeeeeeeaaaaah…. NOPE.

Don’t know why, but Japanese horror films/games work on my so much better than the western equivalent.

The last time western horror really got under my skin was Event Horzon.

It’s worth nothing that Project Zero and Fatal Frame are the same property, so technically this is Fatal Frame 5.

And god damn, that just looked great.

Its very ironic that the games i want on Wii U are made by third party teams.

    how´s that ironic?

it just means that you are probably not the audience that they are targetting with their first party games.

maybe you are too hardcore for nintendo. too (lol) cool…

i bet you are somewehere between 16 and 26 years old +/- a few years. it´s the demographic that often struggles with their late adolescense, trying to become mature, thinking playing mario makes them look like the kids they once have been.

that´s why nintendo seems to get so much negative feedback on the internet. the gaming sites are crowded with males at this age.

some people are stuck in this insecurity forever though even as grown ups. homophobes often are for example.

which other third party games are you interested in on the wiiu?

@polygem Seriously? I have to explain that? Really? It’s very obvious. Ask me again, this time without the condescension & assumptions (which is wrong).

Looks great, wonder if they will take advantadge of the gamepad, which is very suited for this game.
Now I understand the third party offering is lacking on the wiiu, for an only console, but for a second console option they have good titles zombieu, monster hunter tri, bayonetta 2, fatal frame 5, devils third, hyrule warriors, etc, thetefore i believe is the wiiu is becoming steadly a great second console offering.

@Luciferous Japanese films/games work better because they focus on being scary and creepy, Western ones focus on being gory and gross.

If this comes over, they seriously need to keep the japanese dub.

@Game Hunter Are you being serious? Are you actually being 100% serious right now? Fatal Frame/Project Zero has been around since the release of the Playstation 2. How long has Dreadout been out for? oh not even a year? Wow.
