Senran Kagura western publisher Xseed has revealed that the series’ latest 3DS release has almost met expectations, and with that in mind, it’s time to think about future instalments.
It follows my interview with Senran Kagura Burst director Kenichirō Takaki about the sexualisation of Japanese culture.
Speaking with Siliconera, Xseed’s Executive Vice President Ken Berry said, “[Senran Kagura] Burst has done about to expectations. We’re definitely looking at at future titles in the series. We may or may not have an announcement soon.”
The site reckons that this could be a tease for the Westernisation of PS Vita title Senran Kagura: Shinobi Versus.
As for how Suda 51’s Killer is Dead fared in the west, Berry added, “Probably a little below our expectations, because we were really hoping to branch out and hit new fans with that one. But, can’t say that we regret trying it. It was a very stylish and cool game. We gave it our best shot.”
We’ll update if we hear any more on a new Senran Kagura.
