Tales of series has shipped over 16 million units worldwide since 1995

Namco Bandai has announced its Tales of series has shipped over 16 million units worldwide since 1995 with the franchise debut, Tales of Phantasia.

That's around 888,888 units a year for 18 years, give or take, due to all the 8's running off my calculator screen.

The most recent entry for western audiences, Tales of Xillia, has shipped over 1 million copies.

Tales fans have plenty to look forward to in 2014 with Tales of Symphonia Chronicles hitting in February and Tales of Xillia 2 as well.

Tales of Zestiria, which was announced earlier this week, will release on PlayStation 3 and is the first in the Tales series to be announced simultaneously for Japan and the west.

Thanks, Siliconera.
