Virtua Fighter developer Sega has opened a new site to commemorate the brawler’s 20th anniversary. There’s even a trailer of the original game’s intro. Watch it here.

Obvious polygon alert!

That’s pretty nostalgic stuff, and Sega appears to be doing a lot to celebrate the series from today onward. The Virtua Fighter 20th anniversary site includes a blog post that teases more content soon.

What do you think it could be? More retro goodies? A new announcement? Let us know below.

Its about time Sega started making more of their back catalogue of games, so long as they are done well of course.

According to Famitsu there’s going to be a bunch o’ developer videos
up soon along with memorable tournament footage ., all to be follow _d
by a re -release o’ some o’ earlier VF games.

I basically start _d console gaming with a Sega Saturn an’ “VF2″ all
those years ago. Must have played that game for about 6 -months before
getting a Magic Key cart w/ “Street Fighter Zero 2 Dash”. Two all time
fighting game classics almost perfect [ well 60 Hz ] at home.

Personally I’d love to see arcade perfect ports o’ “VF3: TB” an’ “VF4: Evo”.
Those games still had Suzuki’s style before losing direction a bit with th’
hairspray aesthetic in “VF5: FS” methinks. Hopefully this will be better
than Sega’s past efforts at reviving their classics.
