Goichi Suda feels the game is "more important" than the platform its on

Goichi Suda is rather impressed with the emergence of indie titles, stating that the genre is just as important as triple-A title offerings.

Speaking with Expansive DLC, via Nintendo Life, Suda 51 feels the game itself is more important than the platform it's released on.

"I guess what’s more important is the video game itself and not the platform it’s on, and I think it’s really important to be able to have the chance to play all kinds of different games – not just mega AAA titles but indie games too," he said. "You know, indie games are not necessarily poorly made - I think nowadays we are shifting towards the era where you get to play all kinds of different games of different sizes – but they are all equally as good."

Suda also said that although Grasshopper Manufacture has not released a title on a Nintendo console since No More Heroes 2, the team hasn't marked Wii U off its list of platforms.

"It’s a possibility. I guess we haven’t really announced anything yet for Wii U, but for 3DS we had Liberation Maiden… consoles from Nintendo are always very important to us," he said.

Next up from Suda's team is Lily Bergamo which is development for PS4. It was announced at TGS this year, and was recently trademarked in North America.
