DayZ Standalone has a new video available in which developer Dean Hall shows 10 minutes of gameplay taken after spawning into a multiplayer test. The video shows all pre-alpha footage, and makes “no effort to mask the variety of bugs.” Hall said the team’s focus at the moment is on getting the alpha out “which means focusing on Multiplayer and server performance.” DayZ is in development at Bohemia Interactive.

remember the 1st conference. I appreciate the honesty of dean and his team but I’m not surprised of it :) dayz is made by passionate developpers :).

I know it’s far from easy to optimise this game (knowing Arma 2 very well, thanks god Arma 3 is well optimised for dayz 2 ^^

@4 ruined is a strong word. It was certainly degraded to a great extent by the sudden surge in popularity and the kind of gamers this attracted. I honestly don’t think such gamers will bother with the standalone for very long though, if at all. The hype surrounding DayZ has well and truly died down and the community that sticks with the DayZ standalone will likely be similar to the community that played the mod before it became popular.
