2K Drive first dev diary promises ‘console-like’ racing

2K Drive is an ambitious racer for iOS devices, and the first developer diary shows off the scope of the game. There’s plenty of gameplay footage, and it’s genuinely impressive that this is a mobile game.

The diary shows the range of cars that’ll be able available, as well as non-racing game modes such as Car Football and Survivor, an arena mode. There’s also plenty of chance to scrutinise the graphics, which really do come close to those of a current-gen console.

2K Racing is in development at Lucid, the studio behind Project Gotham Racing and Blur, so they have some form in the genre. There isn’t a release date yet, but it’s coming soon to iOS.

Thanks, Kotaku.

Just a reminder of what current racing games look like. In case… you know… you haven’t played them:

Yeah, I’m thinking maybe they didn’t see what Real Racing 3 looked like last year…?

Also, any dev team that isn’t thinking about making an Android release at the same time with the balance of power shifting at the rate that it is needs to start to question it’s business plan.
