PS Vita Summer Select sale event announced

A new PlayStation Store event has been announced which will see four Vita-bound indie titles to be sold at a discounted price.

The scheme named as ‘PS Vita Summer Select’, will offer US PS Plus subscribers the option to purchase those four indie games at a 20 percent discount. The games will be released on the PS Vita in the coming weeks, and it includes the much anticipated mining puzzle game Spelunky.

Each game will be sold at a discounted rate for six days each, ending before the next game goes on sale. Below is the full list, courtesy of the PlayStation Blog:

  • Aug. 20-26: Divekick (Regular Price: $9.99, Sale Price $7.99)
  • Aug. 27-Sept. 2: Spelunky (Regular Price: $14.99, Sale Price $11.99)
  • Sept. 3-9: KickBeat (Regular Price: $9.99, Sale Price $7.99)
  • Sept. 10-16: Dragon Fantasy: Book II (Regular Price: $14.99, Sale Price $11.99)

What’s more, all four titles are Cross-Buy enabled, giving you access to both the PS3 and Vita versions of the game for a single purchase.

    Holy shit, Spelunky Vita is almost here. I have it for XBLA and fore Steam… yet it is still the most compelling reason for me to get a Vita (Portable Spelunky). That and Tearaway.

    dive kick seems intersting :) ..anyway, anyone excited about tomorrow?! ^-^ i am, like literally this is the last big convention which is well received before the consoles release and sony has said there will be new vita games, so! yup! yup! yup!

    Read the news title thinking Sony would be finally delivering a Ps Vita Heaven event with lots of new titles. :(

    Expecting tomorrow as I real boom, or Sony will have a real great problem…

    Rumors in Neogaf points to a Borderlands 2 for Vita. Would be really happy, it really fits in every aspect on Vita.

    Beyond that, theres still a lot to expect. Sony is playing with fire after E3´s sunk.
