Dust 514 getting “near-monthly” updates due to evolving “submission process”

Dust 514 updates over the next six months with come “near monthly” starting with Uprising 1.2.

This is according to a CCP blog post on the matter, citing Sony’s help in speeding up the submissions process.

The firm will be pushing out point releases along with fixing and perfecting core game systems. Over the next few releases, the core gameplay systems such as aiming and aim assist, controls, vehicle handling, movement on the battlefield will be polished. The plan is to also improve on context and immersion with the addition of a welcome screen, and more.

Planetary Conquest will also be “getting a lot of love,” according to the post.

Uprising 1.2, which contains the addition of a brand new dropsuit role, the Commando, is expected on July 2.

thats what this game needs to survive. Because as a player of this game, 3 to 6 months for a little bit of content sucks so hard

It’s unfortunate that while Dust 514 took a great leap forward graphically with the arrival of the Uprising build, the general gungame suffered. A lot of discord followed on the official forums and player numbers dropped in the face of CCP’s silence. However, it now looks like the devs have realised the error of their ways and are communicating far more often with the playerbase and have committed themselves to monthly updates to the game. There’s hope again for Dust 514, and now might be a good time to jump in before Uprising 1.2 arrives July 2nd. The new Academy feature should ensure that new players have time to settle in to the mechanics and controls before they face far more powerful and experienced veteran players, and moreover new players are able to receive a few bonus items to help them along the way, such as a permanent assault rifle and a skill booster if they sign up to Dust 514 via the link below:

Uprising 1.2 upgrade was absolutely great with improved graphics and the game all around extremely improved. I have read that the next release is already in the pipe… that’s one new release a month? it can only be great.
