Telltale Games’ Poker Night 2 announced for release this month

Tuesday, 2nd April 2013 00:10 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Despite the suspicious timing, it seems Telltale isn’t kidding – it’s secretly produced a sequel to 2010′s Poker Night at the Inventory, starring Claptrap from Borderlands; Ash Williams from Army of Darkness; Brock Samson from The Venture Bros; Sam from Sam & Max; and even Portal’s GlaDOS.

Telltale Games’ Poker Night 2 is headed to Mac, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 via digital distribution, with more platforms to be announced, and you can get hold of it at the end of this very month.

By playing poker with your four virtual buddies (GlaDOS is the dealer), you’ll be able to unlock exsclusive customisation items for Borderlands 2 and Team Fortress 2, as well as PS3 themes and Xbox Live avatar items.

Telltale had a massive slog last year on The Walking Dead and is moving onto Fables adaptation The Wolf Among Us, so Poker Night 2 represents a little break for the team.

“It’s great to revisit our roots after the success of The Walking Dead. People might not know that we have a strong history of humor in our games and players are going to find a lot of laughs in Poker Night 2,” CEO Dan Connors said. “Poker Night 2 is another example of our ability to work with phenomenal partners and bring great characters to life in the gaming universe.”

Unless this includes co-op like the original should have had then I’ll give it a miss.

What a dumb mix of characters. Seems completely random. If this hadn’t been revealed a while earlier, I would have thought it was an april’s fool.

The original was also a very bizarre mix of characters. It’s just a crossover of characters to see how they’d react to each other.
