Defiance PC pre-orders open, season pass announced

Defiance is just a few weeks away now, so Steam has opened pre-orders and Trion Worlds has detailed a $40 Season Pass.

The standard edition of Defiance will run you $60 on Steam, while the deluxe edition is $100. It’s not clear what the difference is, but the price difference of $40 is the same as the Season Pass pricing, so that’s probably what you’re getting. As is becoming increasingly more common, Steam is running a pre-purchase unlock scheme which will reward consumers with bonus goodies when pre-orders hit certain, unspecified milestones.

The Season Pass costs $40 to 3200 Microsoft Points, and will cover five upcoming DLC drops, individually priced at $20 – so you save 20%.

The DLC will include a playable alien species; weapons, vehicles, missions, and rewards; ands two bonus items, an exclusive digital Hellbug combat cap and a Lock Box.

Defiance is an open-world co-op shooter MMO which ties in with the upcoming SyFy TV series of the same name, and is headed to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Events of the show will affect the game and vice-versa. It is due on April 2.

That’s saving 60%, no?

But on topic, still not sure what to think about this whole project. A lot of eggs in the basket, but I’m hoping.
