Blacklight: Retribution may be heading to consoles

Blacklight: Retribution developer Zombie Studios has regained the rights to console versions of its free-to-play FPS. The team is now weighing up its console options moving forward.

In a press release, Zombie Studios' creative head Jared Gerritzen said of the move, "Reacquiring the console rights to Blacklight: Retribution allows us a great deal of flexibility in the growth of the Blacklight franchise. We have always had huge plans for the Blacklight franchise and with this move we will finally be able to bring the game to console.”

While no specific formats or dates were given, Gerritzen applauded the console's markets slow, but sure welcoming of the free-to-play ethos, and added, "We are thrilled to see all of the major console manufacturers supporting the free to play business model.”

Meanwhile, Zombie Studios recently revealed its debut Unreal Engine 4 project, codenamed 'Daylight. Check it out here.
